At KBE Kitchens, we were recently asked to transform a dated and impractical bathroom into a bright, modern space that felt more like a luxury hotel bathroom.
The existing bathroom was located in the centre of the property and had no natural light. As a result, the room felt dark, uninviting and outdated. The customer wanted a brighter, more contemporary design that would improve both the appearance and functionality of the space.
During the initial survey, the customer's main objective was to create a light, bright bathroom despite the lack of a window.
The existing bathroom presented several issues:
The customer wanted a complete transformation that would modernise the room and make it a more enjoyable space to use every day.
The project involved several trades working together to deliver the finished result.
The process included:
The existing floor was lifted and the bathroom was completely replumbed. New hot and cold water feeds were installed, along with new waste pipework and a shower pump to improve water pressure.
Five new LED lights and a new extractor fan were installed to improve both the appearance and practicality of the room.
New stud walls were built to accommodate the wall-hung sanitaryware and recessed storage niches. The ceiling was plastered before the room was fully tanked and prepared for tiling.
Large format tiles were installed throughout the walls, creating a modern and spacious feel. Oak herringbone LVT flooring completed the design and added warmth to the room.
Once the tiling was complete, the bathroom suite was fitted, all areas were sealed and the room was fully tested before handover.
The completed bathroom is now bright, modern and luxurious.
The combination of large format tiles, LED niche lighting, wall-hung furniture and herringbone flooring has transformed the space into a contemporary bathroom that feels significantly larger and more welcoming than before.
The customer described it as her own "hotel bathroom" and was delighted with the finished result.
The photos speak for themselves really. I once had a monstrosity of a bathroom, I had a rough vision, trusted Chris with creating the whole thing. The bathroom is absolutely stunning. It resembles a high end hotel spa bathroom. The room is unrecognisable. Can’t recommend Chris enough. Dogs liked him too which is always a good sign.
